Prevention of Adverse Phenomena in the 2013 Latest Feed Pellet Machine

1. Pellets have axial or radial cracks, high pulverization rate, and low output. The cause may be that the conditioning temperature is insufficient and the material maturation degree is poor. The conditioning temperature should be increased and the amount of steam during conditioning should be raised. It may also be because the cutter position is too far away and blunt, causing pellets to be broken or torn rather than cut.

2. Pellet surfaces are not very smooth and the pulverization rate is high. This may be because the Ring Die compression ratio is too small; the compression hole and Ring Die compression should be increased.

3. Pellet surfaces are relatively smooth but hardness is too high. This may be because the Ring Die compression ratio is too large; the Ring Die compression ratio should be reduced.

4. When pellet moisture content is too high, production output is low and machine jamming frequently occurs. This may be because the pressure reducing valve is not effectively reducing pressure or the steam trap is not functioning properly. Adjust the pressure reducing valve so that the steam pressure entering the conditioner is 0.1–0.4 MPa, and ensure the steam trap functions properly. The conditioning temperature can also be increased accordingly, because higher temperatures are conducive to improving material maturation. Generally, for every 11°C increase in temperature, the material moisture content increases by approximately 1%.

5. Pellet lengths are uneven. Adjust the cutter distance or adjust the position of the material distribution deflector.

6. When there is a significant current deviation between the two motors, adjust the belt tension of both motors to make the tension as consistent as possible.
